Where these numbers come from
Every nutrition and allergen figure on this site is reproduced from a document Subway publishes itself, and carries the date printed on that document. Nothing is averaged across countries, nothing is carried over from a previous revision, and nothing is estimated and then presented as published.
The source documents
These are linked rather than rehosted. A nutrition chart is a compilation and copying it wholesale is a different thing from quoting the facts in it, so we quote the facts and send you to the original.
| Country | Document | Printed date | Country verified from |
|---|---|---|---|
| Canada | allergen | October 2026 | the document’s own contents (0.88) |
| Canada | ingredients | October 2026 | the document’s own contents (0.88) |

How the country is proved
Subway’s site redirects by where you appear to be, so a URL that looks like one country can hand back another country’s file with a perfectly normal 200 and no sign of trouble. “UK flag, US allergen data” is the worst mistake available here and it is invisible at the HTTP layer.
So the country is never taken from the URL a document was fetched from. It is proved from the document’s own contents. A US chart shows % Daily Value and added sugars and no kilojoules; a UK one shows kilojoules, Reference Intake, salt rather than sodium, and declares celery and lupin; an Australian one gives per-serve and per-100g columns side by side. If the contents disagree with the country we expected, the build stops.
What this data cannot tell you
The four below are the real limits, stated because they change how you should read the pages, not because disclosure is a nice gesture.
- A named sandwich’s allergens are a minimum, not a complete list
- For the United States and Canada, Subway publishes allergens for the individual components and nutrition for the assembled sandwiches, but never the composition that links them, and we checked the nutrition, allergen and ingredient guides for both. So to list a sandwich’s allergens we have to reconstruct what is on it, and our reconstruction is measurably incomplete: the components we can account for sum to roughly 200 kcal less than the published six-inch figure, about a cheese plus a sauce, and both of those carry allergens. Allergens only ever accumulate as you add components, so “contains wheat” is certain. “Free of sesame” we will not say, and the pages say “not published” instead.
- Adding up vegetables understates them
- Individual vegetable portions are small enough that their macros round to zero in the published table. Lettuce is 3 kcal, banana peppers 1 kcal, and the grams of fat and carbohydrate alongside them are printed as 0. Summing six of those gives a total lower than the real one. The error is small and it is always in the same direction, which is why it is written down here rather than quietly absorbed.
- A footlong is not exactly two six-inches
- Where Subway publishes a footlong row we show it. Where it does not, we do not silently double the six-inch and present the result as published. The calculator will double a selection if you ask it to, and labels the result as our arithmetic.
- Prices are a sample, and they age
- Subway restaurants are franchises that set their own prices, so a single national price list is wrong almost everywhere. Our approach is a small, dated sample from named locations plus nationally advertised promotional pricing from Subway’s own press releases, plus a 2022-2024 archive from this domain’s previous site. Every figure carries its observation date, and its confidence tier is recomputed from that date on every build, so a figure describes itself as current now and as historical in two years without anyone having to remember to change it. Prices are not collected yet; the pages say so rather than guessing.
Derived figures
A few component values are not published directly and are worked out by subtraction: a protein filling, for instance, as the assembled sandwich minus the bread and the standard vegetables. Those are marked with a dagger (†) wherever they appear and are never used in structured data, where the qualification would be stripped away. Every row, published or derived, is checked against the energy its own macros imply; a figure that cannot be reconciled does not ship.
